It's been out for some time but I finally got my hands on it!
Not many can play the game, but those who did have placed it in the definitive top 3 games of all time.... well... most of them anyway
My computer specs checked out great, even above minimum on some categories of system requirements for it, except for the Processor...
I thought:
"Oh so what? I have the graphic card strong enough, the processor doesn't do much anyway..."but boy was I wrong
- on 800*640 screen resolution with absolutely all settings on minimum and all other effects disabled and I can't even scrape 20 fps, but average between 13-15 in little populated areas while the sound is delayed a lot after sword crashes in big fights, like the thunder after a lightning...
on the other hand
- on 1280*1024 res' with everything maxed out and all effects enabled I score 5-8 fps and no hick-ups or freeze screens whatsoever, which is surprising, the fps difference is so small and the ingame experience is truly fantastic in full force.
However expensive it may be to get a good system, I can tell you one thing :
this game is soooooo worth it!The free-roam on foot and on horse, the parkour system with natural movement, the "flowerbox" (as the improved "sandbox") and the weapons and fighting action are SO AMAZING! I really love playing this game thanks to these features!
-the character is really well defined, a strong, mysterious and sometimes scary appearance of a genuine "bird of prey"
-the peds and enemies really well defined, really diverse and unique with great movement and interesting AI
-the horses anatomy and handling are beautiful, while looking pretty much flawless from the first strain of hair of the tail to the nostrils (well... not on low spec, but on medium it's pretty much perfect)
-the buildings and world size
ALL are mind-blowing
As soon as I get my own money I'm getting a new rig and I'm gonna play this game from scratch to truly enjoy its every particle effect and texture advantages.
Aiming for realism, graphic and animation wise Ubisoft produced something greater than anything I've seen in either GTA IV or Crysis
Hands down, one of my favorite games of all time
Much respect to Ubisoft Montreal and shout out to Ubisoft Romania
I really hope they'll make a sequel of this even if they don't add anything else to the experience except new cities, kingdoms and missions
maybe new animals and wagons would be great too
!
This is how it looks like when I play the game:
This is how it should look like:
Sorry for the fraps numbers
The black horse stuck with me from the very first time I went into the kingdom and jumped on it. I don't know why I chose a black one, I usually go for the white horses, but since I restarted the game from scratch he has loyally followed me everywhere and caught up with me wherever I roamed and whatever I climbed in the Kingdom, patiently waiting for me to come out of the cities, and even now that I'm close to the end of the story line I'm still sticking with him. Even though I can choose any other I would want in many other combinations of colors, I'm sticking with this one because even when I thought I lost him or he lost me, he always came back running from behind a corner and I feel that he kind of cheers me when I kill someone in his presence, especially that he helped me sometimes by applying a healthy pair of hoofs to any guard that might have strayed in the reach of his rear feet
I'm gonna call him Arco, the Assassin's Stallion, the Mustang of the 3rd Crusade, Al-Tahir's crime partner, bravest in fights, quickest in chases
To ride for better or for worse, there's nothing better than this Horse Anyway, that's my review, an insight in my gaming experience of Assassin's Creed
Drop your own thoughts and maybe even screenshots or favorite wallpapers from this game cuz I'm still looking for some good ones (I even got Assassin's Creed as my cell phone wallpaper
)
